Academic Policy

  • Washington University of Science and Technology offers 4 enrollment windows per year.

  • The university has 3 semesters: Fall, Spring, and Summer.

  • The master's programs require the completion of 54 credits.

  • Students can take a leave of absence after completing three semesters. There is no gap between CPT authorization periods during breaks.

  • CPT Start Date: Washington University of Science and Technology allows students to start CPT from the first day of their program.

On-Site Policy

  • Students are required to attend three on-site session each semester. Students are required to attend on-campus classes during the third, sixth, and ninth weeks of each semester.

Other Fees:

  • Enrollment Fee: $500

  • Late Payment Fee: $50

  • Monthly payment plan is available. The plan requires at least 40% of the total tuition and fees to be paid at the time of registration, 80% by the end of the fourth week, and the remaining balance (100%) by the end of the eighth week. To apply for a payment plan, a student must meet all the following qualifications:

    • Has been enrolled for one or more quarters;

    • Has no previous outstanding balance.

Master of Business Administration (MBA)

WUST’s MBA program is designed to develop well-rounded professionals for business success. It focuses on the development of four core abilities: leadership and management skills in areas like finance, healthcare, and IT; strategic planning for solving organizational challenges; effective communication and team management; and ethical decision-making grounded in social responsibility. To graduate, students need to complete 54 credits.

MS in Information Technology (STEM)

WUST's Master of Science in Information Technology program prepares students to lead IT teams and projects, equipping them with the skills needed for mid-level roles in small to mid-sized companies. Combining theoretical knowledge with practical experience, the program focuses on developing professionals capable of delivering impactful IT solutions in a fast-paced, global marketplace. To graduate, students need to complete 54 credits.

MS in Cybersecurity (STEM)

WUST's Master of Science in Cybersecurity program prepares students to protect and manage critical digital assets in today’s evolving threat landscape. The program emphasizes practical skills and advanced knowledge in areas like network security, risk management, and incident response, equipping graduates for leadership roles in safeguarding organizational cybersecurity. To graduate, students need to complete 54 credits.

* If you are a transfer F-1 student, you need to submit your application 4 weeks before the program start date. If you are an initial F-1 students or change of status applicant, you must submit your application at least 3 months before the program start date.

How to apply and waive the application fee?

1. Start the Application: Fill out the form below to receive application instruction and visa advice.

  • Contact us to confirm whether WUST is suitable for you in terms of location and program. Choosing a right school and program can help reduce risks in your future immigration applications.

  • There is a $75 application fee. Contact us to request a waiver before submitting your application.

 

2. Submit Application Documents:

  • Academic Transcripts: official transcripts from all educational institutions you have attended, with a GPA of 2.5 or higher for master's degrees.

  • Diploma: highest degree diplomas.

  • Resume: current personal resume.

  • Foreign Transcript Evaluation: provide a foreign transcript evaluation from World Education Services (if applicable).

  • English Proficiency Test: can be waived if you hold a U.S. degree.

    • TOEFL: 78 or above

    • IELTS: 6.0 or above

  • Financial Documentation: a bank statement (minimum of $21,300) within the past three months (equivalent amounts in other currencies are acceptable).

  • Immigration Documentation:

    • Copy of Passport

    • F-1 Visa (if applicable)

    • Current I-20 (if applicable)

    • I-797 Notice (if applicable)

    • EAD Card (if applicable) 

The processing of application typically takes 2-3 weeks; contact us in urgent cases for expedited processing, which can reduce the processing time to 1-3 days.

 

3. SEVIS Transfer (for OPT students): After receiving the acceptance letter, confirm the SEVIS transfer date with your advisor. Then, complete the SEVIS transfer form to transfer your SEVIS record to Texas Wesleyan University.
