Academic Policy

  • Indiana Wesleyan University has three semesters each year: Fall, Spring, and Summer.

  • The master's programs require the completion of 30 credits.

  • Each semester, students need to take at least one online course (3 credits) and one hybrid course (3 credits).

  • Students can still use CPT during breaks; there is no gap between CPT authorization periods.

  • CPT Start Date: Indiana Wesleyan University allows students to start CPT from the first day of their program.

  • GPA Requirements: 3.0 or above.

On-Site Policy

  • Students are required to attend one on-site session each semester. On-site classes are held in Merrillville, IN over a weekend (Friday to Saturday: 9am - 4:30 pm).

  • The first on-site session includes Thursday afternoon (students can provide documents to take a leave).

  • Financial Documentation: a bank statement (minimum of $28,000) within the past three months (equivalent amounts in other currencies are acceptable).

  • Immigration Documentation:

    • F-1 Visa (if applicable)

    • Current I-20 (if applicable)

    • I-797 Notice (if applicable)

3. SEVIS Transfer (for OPT students): After receiving the acceptance letter, confirm the SEVIS transfer date with your advisor. Then, complete the SEVIS transfer form to transfer your SEVIS record to Indiana Wesleyan University.
